Art Café…it’s a little bit of ‘me’ time just when you really need it! We paint, craft and chat…a lot. We’ll always greet you with coffee or tea and a sweet treat to start the class as well as homemade soup and bread for lunch.

Along the way, giving back to our community because a portion of each café is donated to a favourite cause, fundraiser, etc. and it’s easy to set up an Art Café for you and a few of your friends. What we do…

Our Art Cafés are about taking time for yourself when life gets hectic around you.

Most of us race through our days multitasking every moment making lightning-fast decisions about one thing or other. It’s exhausting!

Art Cafés help slow down your thoughts, allowing you to be creative and enjoy the pace. Don’t get me wrong…we’re no slugs! Our Art Cafés are a lot of noisy fun when we get going! Lots of laughs…learning a little about the subject or artist…while eating and painting or crafting.

I supply everything you need. There is a fee of $40pp for most cafés. Here’s how to sign up in 3 easy steps.

1 – Email me at jhydeArtCafe@gmail.com ,
2 – I’ll reply to confirm there is space for you…
3 – eTransfer the fee (same email) to complete your reservation then show up…and have some fun! Brushes, paint, canvas, glue, acetate, glitter, paper, pens, beads, string, or watercolours…are all included for each café.

When you arrive we’ll have a nice hot coffee, tea, or juice and a muffin or cookies waiting for you… Lunch is served after we are done usually around 12noon.

A portion of each café fee goes to community fundraising. Ask for details about setting up your own fundraiser.

Our first Art Cafes were fundraisers for the Accessibility project at Melville United Church in Ivan. Altogether we raised $2,300.00 to give Melville a lift!

We learned how beautiful Monet, Harris, and Van Gogh painted. The difference in their painting styles. How each paint stroke added to the story told by each painting. Three beautiful paintings each unique and enjoyed by many of our community members who came and shared their painting talents.

Birch Trees

This painting was my first Art Café subject with my neighbours. They agreed to come over with their husbands for a nice paint evening and BBQ. Husbands drank and ate…we painted and laughed…then we ate! The subject was pretty easy and could be interpreted several ways using any colour palette. My friends stuck to it …

Mandala

This one was just for me…I started meditating for myself because I have elevated blood pressure and wanted to do whatever I could to bring my numbers in line with a normal level.
